Under the gaze of mist-swirled Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is a lush, green pocket of wildlife. Game drives are, therefore, pretty epic. The star players in this region of Kenya are the elephants who amble through the dreamy landscape - sometimes a few steps from your vehicle. They're not alone on the plains so keep your binoculars ready to spot anything from grazing wildebeest and Burchell's zebra to striding prides of lion and cheetah's in a race for dinner. Not to mention plentiful birdlife (there are over 300 species), from the speedy kingfisher to the jurassic hammerkops. Whether you venture out as the sun peeks over the bush or as the afternoon cools down, there's always something to see.
